Matthew McConaughey looks to be continuing his run of great roles, as he has now joined the cast of Martin Scorsese’s The Wolf of Wall Street. Leonardo DiCaprio is set as the lead in the adaptation of Jordan Belfort’s memoir, as the story follows the hard partying, drug addicted stockbroker who was indicted in 1998 for security fraud and money laundering, and served a 22-month federal prison stretch. Per Deadline, McConaughey will be playing Mark Hanna, the early boss and mentor of Belfort.
The stacked cast now includes Jonah Hill, Jean Dujardin, Kyle Chandler, Joe Bernthal, Margot Robbie, and Rob Reiner. Production begins this month in New York, and we previously learned that Scorsese will be shooting the pic in digital 2D. McConaughey is coming off of fantastic roles in Magic Mike and Killer Joe, and he’s gearing up to shoot the AIDS drama The Dallas Buyer’s Club.
Matthew is a very talented actor who in the 90′s had some great performances in Amistad, Dazed and confused, and frailty. Good to see him leave these horrible romantic comedies behind.

Question is…how long into the movie before he appears with his shirt off!*
*The habitual McConaughey shirt undressing is mentioned in this month’s EMPIRE magazine!
Perhaps the movie should be renamed The SHIRT of Wall Street?
