Though Matthew Vaughn was previously set to direct the X-Men: First Class sequel X-Men: Days of Future Past only to step down and let Bryan Singer take the helm instead, it looks like he might be involved with another upcoming 20th Century Fox superhero property.  Vaughn remains a producer on Days of Future Past, and now proverbial Chatty Cathy Mark Millar has revealed that Vaughn will also be producing Fox’s upcoming Fantastic Four reboot, which will be directed by Chronicle helmer Josh Trank.  Hit the jump for more.

As with all Mark Millar-related stories, it’s important to note that this guy talks quite a bit and he doesn’t exactly have an impeccable track record when it comes to his claims turning out to be true.  That said, Millar was hired by Fox last fall to act as a “consultant” on all of their developing Marvel properties, and today Millar took to Twitter to share some news about the Fantastic Four redo:

This news was subsequently confirmed by Deadline, so it looks as though Vaughn will indeed have a hand in the new iteration of Fantastic Four.  It’ll be interesting to see how involved Vaughn will be with the production, and seeing as this is only Trank’s second film, it should help to have someone experienced in big-budget comic-book fare onboard to help guide him along.  The Fantastic Four is set to open on March 6, 2015.
