CBS Has Officially Canceled MEDIUM

     November 18, 2010

After NBC decided they wanted no more of Patricia Arquette’s dramatic thriller series Medium, CBS graciously saved the series and added it to their line-up. However, cancellation recently seemed inevitable once more since the network didn’t pick up another nine episodes for a full season order for the series’ currently airing seventh season. Series lead star Arquette even said this to EW earlier this week, “I was trying to get information from the writers about the last episode. I don’t know what it’s going to be, but they’re really excited about it. They’re like, ‘We’re just going to burn the whole thing down!’ I’m really excited. It’s been a great time. I love that time in my life.”

Series creator Glenn Gordon Caron confirmed the cancellation on the show’s Facebook page: “It’s true. Allison Dubois will dream her last dream on Fri 1/21. In what we believe will be a series defining episode, Allison and her family will stare destiny in the eye. And destiny will not blink.” Certainly a bit hyperbolic, but it sounds like the writers are sending out the series in a blaze of crazy glory. I never got into the series, but there are likely some fans out there who are disappointed. Feel free to express your frustration in the comments.

R.I.P. Medium. You will be missed.

Loved the show. I liked that it wasn’t “over the top”. It had a realistic subtle feel. Almost every episode had a twist ending or cool way of catching the bad guy.

Sorry to see the end of the series but I do believe the show has run its course. And yes, the best part about the show was the husband Joe, adeptly portayed by the great actor Jake Weber.
    RIP Medium

I am so upset that Allison Dubois is not gonna be on tv no more. I am so sad. Please dont take it off the air.

Cheap, low-brow reality t.v. has replaced solid acting, creative storylines and actual entertainment. We have cable, streaming video and more channels then ever, and yet, most people—myself included—often wonder why there’s nothing on T.V. With the cancellation of yet another quality program, I think we have our answer.

Too bad. I’m surprised and disappointed. Just got done watching what i suppose was the final episode. I had no idea. It was cool, yet sad. There’s not too much that’s good on tv these days…. another good show gone.
