What’s wonderful about director Lars von Trier’s films is that you never know what to expect.  Sometimes the outcome works and other times it doesn’t, but it will be a film-going experience unlike any other.  For example, his latest film Melancholia picks up from a normal, relatable setting—a wedding—and then goes totally batshit from there with a newly discovered planet that might collide with Earth.  Melancholia is billed as “a psychological disaster movie” and “a beautiful movie about the end of the world”. Also, going by the trailer, Kirsten Dunst might have super powers.  I have no idea what to make of Melancholia, and I can’t wait to see it.

I wish Kiefer Sutherland would do more mainstream movies. He has done some great films in his time and shouldn’t just be remembered for 24 and playing Jack Bauer. He was huge to me long before 24 began. He is an underrated actor. So, I hope that he does more movies with more leading roles, tries to reach his full potential as an actor and tries to win an Oscar.

sometimes you just see a certain actor for a certain part. “big names” tend to block the more fitted actor for the “main part”. and maybe that’s whats blocking Kiefer Sutherland from leading roles??

trailer looks amazing, and hope the movie is as well.

p.s. i saw another movie he where he had leading role, and i think he’ll do way better with the role he has in “Melancholia”.

I don’t think I will see this though as this is not my kind of movie, you know :)

To be honest I don’t understand this and thus am not really interested. As well… Kirsten Dunst…. But I absolutely love how this trailer was edited. The music is awesome and it feels very unlike anything I’ve ever seen.

Won’t see it in theaters but definitely a rental.

I didn’t think it was possible to out chick flick Deep Impact when it comes to stuff hitting Earth, but looks like they’re going to try.

This trailer really peaked my interest. I have never been a huge Kirsten Dunst fan, but this looks really different. It feels like it might be something unique.

Yea Antichrist is another great addition to his chick flick films, check it out. I don’t know about the comment about Kirsten having super powers, in that scene there’s lightning contacting the poles in the background as well.

I look forward to this, it’s nice to still have some meaningful film in the desert of vacant Hollywood trash.
