We have three new posters from three big movies for you today. Since a picture is worth a thousand words, I’ll be brief and let the artwork speak for itself:

  • First up is a new poster for Men in Black 3 featuring Josh Brolin, Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones. The film, by director Barry Sonnenfeld, opens in 3D on May 25th.
  • Next is an up-close-and-personal look at star Taylor Kitsch in his second of three 2012 releases, Battleship. Also starring Liam Neeson, Alexander Skarsgard, Brooklyn Decker and Rihanna, Battleship opens May 18th.
  • Saving the best for last is the Mondo poster that is supposedly being given away at special IMAX screenings of John Carter. Starring Taylor Kitsch, Willem Dafoe, Mark Strong, Ciaran Hinds and Bryan Cranston, John Carter opens March 9th.

Hit the jump to check out the posters.

Here’s the synopsis and new poster for Men in Black 3 (via Twitter user, @RIMMK7). Get caught up on all of our previous coverage here.

In Men in Black™ 3, Agents J (Will Smith) and K (Tommy Lee Jones) are back… in time. J has seen some inexplicable things in his 15 years with the Men in Black, but nothing, not even aliens, perplexes him as much as his wry, reticent partner. But when K’s life and the fate of the planet are put at stake, Agent J will have to travel back in time to put things right. J discovers that there are secrets to the universe that K never told him — secrets that will reveal themselves as he teams up with the young Agent K (Josh Brolin) to save his partner, the agency, and the future of humankind.

Next up is the synopsis and a French poster for Battleship from IMPA (via Allocine). Check out all of our coverage on Battleship here.

Peter Berg (Hancock) produces and directs Battleship, an epic action-adventure that unfolds across the seas, in the skies and over land as our planet fights for survival against a superior force. Based on Hasbro’s classic naval combat game, Battleship stars Taylor Kitsch as Lt. Alex Hopper, a Naval officer assigned to the USS John Paul Jones; Brooklyn Decker as Sam Shane, a physical therapist and Hopper’s fiancée; Alexander Skarsgard as Hopper’s older brother, Stone, Commanding Officer of the USS Sampson; Rihanna as Petty Officer Raikes, Hopper’s crewmate and a weapons specialist on the USS John Paul Jones; and international superstar Liam Neeson as Hopper and Stone’s superior (and Sam’s father), Admiral Shane.

Finally, the sprawling, epic, gorgeous Mondo IMAX poster for John Carter, also from IMPA (via Hero Complex). If the movie is anything like the poster (and Steve swears it is), audiences are in for an immersive and visual treat. Check out the synopsis and new poster below (which you can supposedly get for free at midnight IMAX showings on opening night) and have a look at all of our previous coverage here.

From Academy Award(R)-winning filmmaker Andrew Stanton comes “John Carter”–a sweeping action-adventure set on the mysterious and exotic planet of Barsoom (Mars). “John Carter” is based on a classic novel by Edgar Rice Burroughs, whose highly imaginative adventures served as inspiration for many filmmakers, both past and present. The film tells the story of war-weary, former military captain John Carter (Taylor Kitsch), who is inexplicably transported to Mars where he becomes reluctantly embroiled in a conflict of epic proportions amongst the inhabitants of the planet, including Tars Tarkas (Willem Dafoe) and the captivating Princess Dejah Thoris (Lynn Collins). In a world on the brink of collapse, Carter rediscovers his humanity when he realizes that the survival of Barsoom and its people rests in his hands.

Note: The numbers across the top (03-09-12) are obviously the release date, but what is the second set of numbers (12-01-00)? Any significance to anything? Or has my brain just shut down completely?
