We’re in the midst of a superhero-marketing blitz as we’ve seen a bevy of new images/trailers from The Avengers and The Amazing Spider-Man in the past few weeks, but today three new images from a non-superhero summer movie have popped up on the web. Three new stills from Barry Sonnenfeld’s Men in Black 3 have gone online, giving us a good look at Will Smith in 1960s mode. The plot see Smith’s Agent J traveling back in time in order to save Agent K (Tommy Lee Jones) from an attempted assassination. Josh Brolin plays the young K, and from the brief bits we saw in the film’s trailer I’d say he has the Jones impression down pat. While the film's many production woes have me a bit worried, I’m intrigued to see the series tackle the 1960s. I think there’s some fun material to be mined in the sci-fi world of the 60s and I’m really hoping Sonnefeld and Co. pulled it off.Hit the jump to check out the images. The film also stars Emma Thompson, Jemaine Clement, Alice Eve, and Nicole Scherzinger. Men in Black 3 opens in 3D on May 25th.Here’s the official synopsis:

In Men in Black™ 3, Agents J (Will Smith) and K (Tommy Lee Jones) are back… in time. J has seen some inexplicable things in his 15 years with the Men in Black, but nothing, not even aliens, perplexes him as much as his wry, reticent partner. But when K’s life and the fate of the planet are put at stake, Agent J will have to travel back in time to put things right. J discovers that there are secrets to the universe that K never told him — secrets that will reveal themselves as he teams up with the young Agent K (Josh Brolin) to save his partner, the agency, and the future of humankind.
