Michael Bay Reveals TRANSFORMERS 3 Features Big Action Sequences in Chicago and Moscow

Transformers Revenge of the Fallen movie image.jpg

A small Transformers 3 update hit the net tonight.  Director Michael Bay’s official website revealed Chicago and Moscow will be the focus of “big action sequences” in the next Transformers movie.  Here’s what his site had:

Nelson here…

Spoke with Michael today and got some little info on TF3: there will be big action sequences shot in Chicago and Moscow this time around.

Also, Mike will match the amount raised by the TF2 DVD/Blu-ray sales for the Make A Wish Foundation.

While no details have been revealed about the plot of the third movie…even though almost everyone hated the sequel, don’t lie and say you won’t be there opening day for the third.  I loved the first Transformers and didn’t care for the second.  But I’m so in for the third.  I figure Bay must have heard the critics and will deliver a stronger story in the next sequel.  But when a film makes $835 million at the worldwide box office, does he really have to listen to anyone?  Transformers 3 gets released July 1, 2011.  Expect plenty of updates in the next few months.

“don’t lie and say you won’t be there opening day for the third.”

Ok, I won't lie about that. I won't be there ANY DAY. Kthnxbai.

Some web research reveals that IMAX may not mean the huge screen that you expect. IMAX has recently entered into a deal with AMC to market its name as IMAX Digital, which has little to do with the super-high-res image and huge screens you expect when you think IMAX. You may go into the theater and encounter a pretty ordinary sized screen.

“I figure Bay must have heard the critics and will deliver a stronger story in the next sequel.”

Yeah, that's exactly what we all thought after the first one. Fallen is considered to be one of the worst movies ever made, so where do you go from there? The way they are going with this franchise, the third installment will be so bad that it will actually cause people to bleed out of their eyes and become one of the “crazies”

  • hallsart

Really? The first one bored the hell out of me and i was pretty entertained by the second, I am starting to think that these critics either never watched the cartoon or enjoyed a crapfest like napolian dynamite.

  • Troll

At least they can probably spell Napoleon.

  • Spiderfan

Loved the first one and though the second had great action scenes, it really wasn't very good in terms of both plot and comedy. Hopefully Madflap and Skids have found their exit.

Still despite the second one I am really looking foreword to this one.

  • Regan Smith

I loved the 2nd movie, the violence and the explosions were the key parts of the plot. This movie looks to be awesome.

  • Walter

Transformers sucked. The only thing that keeps it going is the stupid pre-teen boys who just want to see robots fight for two hours.

    • DannyG

Walter: If the movie sucked so bad why are you here writing this? You probably liked zombieland you douchbag.

  • Zac

Didn't see the second Transformers and most likely will not waste my money on third unless by some miracle Michael Bay chooses to create something of substance for once in his life. Bay's movie making ability is a joke. Sorry but that's the truth. Good luck Mr. Bay. I do mean that with all sincerity by the way. It would be nice to see the Autos and the Cons duke it out in a well crafted film.

  • trellisyo

AHH!! the fact that there is a transformers three should be a rotten idea of the week. the idea os Micheal Bay ever making a movie should the rotten idea of the history of film.

  • Sick of Michael Bay's ego

Actually, for what it was, that the first “Transformers” was extremely overrated. The sequel, for what it was, was even worse. Michael Bay is an incredibly self absorbed filmmaker who takes a TON of money and throws it into a blender with what appears to be a rough draft of a script and then he pours it into a mold, puts it in the oven and when it comes out, its one big, hot mess. He doesn't hold the camera still for more than 3 seconds at a time so that the viewing audience doesn't have time to process that what they are seeing is total crap. I HATE the fact that a 3rd “Transformers” is on the way. They are poorly, poorly acted, even more poorly written and directed, please just stop now. Why subject the world to this mindless garbage that does nothing but attack your life for 2 1/2 hours with noise and bright colors?

  • strickland

Seems like a decent guy to give that cash to make a wish.

  • strickland

And really, how many of us would care what people or critics thought about your work if it just made almost a billion dollars. Obviously, all that can't come from teenage boys as someone posted.

  • Waciba

Here we go Michael Bay dropping another dump on my childhood, yay! Burn in hell!

  • paceyp

Not sure if anyone has said this yet but could Transformers 3 have some kind of Cold War concept going on? Autobots and America vs The Decepticons and Russia? With Michael Bay at the helm surely this would be a recipe for disaster, then again Rocky managed it.

  • Jarlaxle

Did anyone notice the dinosaur skeleton in the bottom left corner?? This 3rd movie might include the Dinobots. This could make for an entertaining movie with a bunch of 1 liners in it

  • Me

    I love the haters comments….

If you don't know what to expect from Michael Bay by now then who is the real idiot? Michael Bay always makes movies in which acting and plot are secondary to his killer action scenes. If you enjoy a bunch of crap blowing up and big explosions, then watch his movies. If you want a more complete film, then don't…

I'm not a big Michael Bay fan, but his movies make money so why would he do anything differently?

  • Sniffer

So, this schmuck of a filmmaker doesn't know when to quit, eh? Well, we'll see if the third time really is the charm.

  • uhbob

Never can understand how people like you know what these movies are about. If you always pay to watch stuff you don't like but millions (billions?) do how watch some junk I make with the millions you get paid for your criticism. If his work is no good, he'd be living in the refrigerator box next to your home. Go watch junk like In the`Bedroom or Th English Patient That are so good the population doles out hundreds of dollars to see them. That's right, I just don't understand what entertains me as well as people like you do.

  • gkt5599

actually, im fairly certain that the pre-teen boys want to see megan fox running in slow motion.

  • http://ouchimoo.blogspot.com/ Ouchimoo

I figure Bay must have heard the critics and will deliver a stronger story in the next sequel.

Uh yeah right. That's what we thought for the first one, but instead he took everything that sucked from the first and amplified it for the second. And now that he gained tons of money I don't have any hope that the next one will be better.

  • Anthony

You're absolutely right he has no idea how to make money off of movies. Oh wait never mind, he made more money with Transformers 2 in opening day than you will your whole life

  • apaque20

Why do so many people fail to realize that these movies are created purely to achieve piles and piles of money and regardless of the horrendous plot they will continue coming out of the wood works, and why? BECAUSE PEOPLE PAY FOR IT! These movies were not created for critics they were created for teenagers and you know what? Last week I watched about 20 teens walk out of Shutter Island, and I am guessing it was because the movie had too much substance. Take TF for what it is and nothing more….unless Christopher Nolan decides he wants to direct one lol

  • Underground Source

TF2 do have a story to tell but the bulk of the action sequences really overwhelmed it. the thing i hate about TF is that there are so many characters with so many action sequences, most viewers are struggling to understand who is crushing who in the scenes especially TF1.

The other thing about the fallen, megatron, starscream – all of em seem to be way to much mechanics in its body design. a lot of the sequences shot from an overview perspective makes it looks like a pile of junk! really if one compares with mecha design by Yoji Shinkawa, japanese design are way more better with intricate simple detail but huge appearance and easier to relate.

i seriously hope they'll come out with a relatable TF character.

  • ajamison

dont kid yourself every guy likes to watch megan fox running in slow motion.

  • James

Ok. The second movie wasn’t bad, by any means. I loved it. The action, the fight sequences, the storyline. They may not have been over the top, but they were damn impressive. And always will be. The third movie is just going to be a hell of a joy ride, and I hope the graphics and animation is just as superb and flawless. Michael Bay, keep up the great work, and ignore all the haters.

You all forget that the film industry is a business!!!! The majority of people are thick and really dont care if a film is good – ordinary people simply go to escape and thats were the bucks are… so they must cater for all audience types – and if they cant… blow it up and they will come! shitty ass films always do well, hence why its never going to end..

Having worked on a few films myself, you really do learn how little control a director can have – of course they have an overall say but what about the producer, lighting dir, sfx director and the editor – theyre all to blame for the T2 mess…. Bay is simply a brand that working people know such as Tim Burton… Bay is crap yes, but he knows this… and dosent care… probably

  • Film Enthusiast

Any idiot can make money off a film. Aside from being far too rich for his level of talent, Michael Bay has nothing going for him other than a stupid fanbase. Yes, I enjoyed the first one for the most part. Yes, I was suckered in my the second movie, which was probably the worst movie released in 2009. It had no coherent plot to speak of, horrid acting, racist portrayals, and too much ancillary bullshit crammed in. Much like many comic/cartoon adaptations, Bay tried to include too many characters just for the sake of including them (see: X-Men Origins: Wolverine, another awful movie).

Someone needs to slap Bay's hands away from this project. Every bit of news I hear about “Transformers 3″ seeks to stomp on my already bloodied and beaten sense of nostalgia.

  • SageSageSage

Please note that while something can be entertaining to one or more people, that does not automatically make it good.

Some people found 2 Girls 1 Cup entertaining. Some find murdering cats to be fun. Others even find self mutilation to be a jolly good time. Are these things “good”? Hardly.

Instead of watching and fawning over the same crap over and over again, why not read a book or watch an intelligent film? It might help your apparent IQ issues (grammar, spelling, punctuation, flawed ideas, taste in movies, etc.)

  • GreyAWD2006

I created an account just to reply to this reply. I say bravo to you sir for responding with an answer that makes me proud of the movie going community. The fact of how easily you pointed out basic principles that most should easily grasp (and yet it escapes them) pleased me. I 100% agree that just because it's entertaining to most (even if it is to myself) doesn't make it a good movie. The same can be said from the other perspective that just because I thought a movie was good doesn't mean I was necessarily entertained.

I think the key to an amazing movie experience is to make a movie that is entertaining and good at the same time. I don't even think it necessarily has to be relevant (not all movies have to have a purpose IMO) as long as it can capture the attention of your emotions as well as your intelligence.

  • Justin

Um….the last time I checked, you DO go to a Transformers movie to see robots fight for two hours.
Why would you expect anything otherwise?

  • SlammerTime

What about the Dinobauts or the Minicons? How about changing it up to include the original story line some? Come on Michael Bay!!! Get with the program ya jerk!

  • dan

both movies were horrible… Why did he take the lovable cartoon characters (G1) and ruin them i'll never know. Will he now ruin Grimlock? :(

  • liam

Michael bay is a good director. Why do you pay to go and watch his films then come type up about how shit it was. Id rather have brilliant action scenes than acting skils if you dont agree, fine. Watch something else.

I couldn't help but laugh at the people complaining that Transformers isn't intelligent enough…..You do realize this is a movie about talking cars and planes right ? If you are looking for life changing messages or deep story lines, why would you look to a movie about cars and trucks that can transform into robots ?

For myself, both movies were great, and I wasn't worried about the story line, I just wanted to see cool special effects and things being blown up, and both of these movies delivered. Does this mean you have to enjoy it, no, but to rag on someones taste like you are an authority on movies amaze me. Not everything in life has to be intelligent or well meaning and have a social value, some of them can just be there for pure entertainment. Thats like saying that we shouldn't eat food that isn't the healthiest in can be, for example, I love coney dogs, but from what I read there isn't one person out there touting the dietary benefits of them, and who cares, I eat them because they are tasty.

Maybe one day when you can stop being the “I know whats best” police and sit back and just enjoy a movie for fun, you may learn that life doesn't always have to have meaning, that sometimes life is just something to enjoy.

  • Underground Source

true indeed,….a michael bay movie with story will turn out 2 b something like pearl harbour. u wait till ur neck grew longer than ur legs b4 the action starts.
well his horror flick ain't that bad although it's a bit of cheapskate budget compared to others.

what he need is 'to learnnnn from the inside,…. becomes the apprentice he will, under the guidance of the dark lord james cameron'. all he needs is pacing, story, relevance & all the rest is awesomeness.

OR mikey bay can b remembered as the pop corny film director of all time. cheers!

All of these people sucking on Michael Bay’s dung droppings are more astounding than a 12-foot transparent midget.

#1 Anyone with an I.Q. above 100 knows that Transformers 2 stole some of their I.Q. and turned them into an idiot for 2 hours.

#2 Transformers 2 was built for moronic adults and hormone driven teenagers- especially swollen balled 16yr old boys who think “BOOM” and “BOOBS” makes a great movie.

#3 If you are one of the retards above who makes excuses for Transformers’ 9th grade plot by bringing up “Hey, Michael bay is allowed to be racist and stupid ’cause, like, you know, like, the movie was about rock ‘em, sock ‘em robots dude! What did you expect?” Then please rid our planet of your genes and use condoms for the rest of your life.

Just because a movie is about robots, doesn’t mean it has to have a shitty plot – GOOD MOVIE: DISTRICT 9. BAD MOVIE: TRANSFORMERS 2

Just because a movie is science fiction, doesn’t mean it has to have bullshit muted explosions with absurd characters, action, and direction – i.e. GOOD MOVIE: AVATAR. BAD MOVIE: TRANSFORMERS 2

Just because a movie makes a lot of money by appealing to those who can’t spell “atrocious” doesn’t make it a good movie- ie. GOOD MOVIE: E.T. BAD MOVIE: TRANSFORMERS 2

And no, I don’t hate you or Transformers. I just pity you for losing braincells during the process of swallowing Michael Bay’s jizz.

That being said, I think I'll just donate the amount I would have spent on Bay's crap directly to Make a Wish myself.
Allowing commerce of any kind to flow to Bay is like donating cigarettes to cancer patients.

  • YouKnowIt2112

    Let me guess…
Transformers 3: Contrapasso of Megatron – Blah Blah F**kin' Blah will have not only ambulatory lazy racial slurs, but also religious and cultural ones as well.

    Ugh.

Bay is the antithesis of anything remotely resembling quality cinema.

Please, DGA, revoke his card NOW!

  • TJ

When you say “everyone hated the sequel.” Are you referring to the 10s of thousands who have watched it more then twice and purchased the dvd? Or are you simply overstating the value of you and your equally self idolizing dumbass friends?

  • tj

Cant we all get along? My buddies and I will enjoy two hrs of robots beating the crap out of each other and then go get a beer., You and your buddies can watch gay sheepherders humping in a tent and then drink wine spritzers, hold each other and cry

  • tj

Well as long as any idiot can make money off a film..get after it. You sound qualified

  • Optimusprimesgirl

You are serious mistaken BOTH movies were good your remarks concerning Bay is just pure BS the man is talented tell me buddy what is it YOU do for a living are you making anywhere near what Bay is making – do you have any sort of talent for anything? And yes if your wondering I am a professional novelist so yes I have a job…. and many books out dip stick

  • Chad

I hope you have one hell of an editor. I'd wager that YOU'RE also a fan of the Twilight series. Art and commerce don't always reflect one another. Movies are nothing more than a business and Michael Bay movies tend to make money which looks good on a studio's bottom line. I doubt though that film students will be going to Universities to study the work of the grand visionary behind such films as The Island, Bad Boys 1 and 2 and Transformers 2.

  • optimusprimesgirl23

No actually I'm not into vampires but I have been a transformers fan since they started and I am not a kid I am 41 years old and yes I loved the two movies by Bay and I am not ashamed to admit that nor does it seem fair for a bunch of lame ass people to make lame ass remarks and put down what others like. Those who like Bay's movies are entitled to their opinions and yes I do have a very nice editor and all thank you very much :O)

  • tommythesalami

what a pile of garbage this guy is a terrible director and makes terrible movies i wont pay to go see part 3 either

    IT STINKS!!!
