Michael Bay has been sharing a number of behind-the-scenes videos from the set of Transformers: The Last Knight as filming has taken place everywhere from Detroit to the U.K., and he recently shared a few that give a closer look at one of the biggest twists in the franchise: a medieval setting. Indeed, The Last Knight isn’t just a play on words, but refers to the King Arthur legend that will be covered in the film, and one imagines it has some direct correlation to Mark Wahlberg’s character in present day (please don’t tell me he’s a long-lost descendant of Arthur).

Bay offers a pretty unfiltered look at his location shooting in the U.K., complete with an army of medieval soldiers and a gorgeously overcast setting. And in another video, we get a look at Wahlberg and co-star Laura Haddock performing stunts on a giant rig that will eventually become a rotating room.

So yeah, with his fifth Transformers movie in a row, Bay is going medieval. It’ll be interesting to see how much of the film is comprised of this medieval setting, if it’s simply a prologue or exposition dump or if it’s scattered throughout. The story of The Last Knight came out of the writer’s room that was assembled to come up with ideas for future Transformers movies, so this is far from the end of the franchise. But will it be the end for Bay?

Check out the Transformers: The Last Knight set videos below. The film also stars Anthony Hopkins, Isabela Moner, Stanley Tucci, John Goodman, John Turturro, and Josh Duhamel. Transformers: The Last Knight opens in theaters on June 23, 2017.
