Thanks to my partners at the website Omelete, I participated in an interview with Michael Cera and Kat Dennings a few days ago. The reason for this recent interview was they were promoting Nick & Norah’s Infinite Playlist for its international release…and since Omelete is based in Brazil, I did their TV spot.

While the movie has been playing here in the States for a few weeks, since both Michael and Kat are two stars on the rise, I figured you might want to see what we talked about. Also, it was a great interview and I think it’s worth watching.

And for those that have no idea what Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist is about….

Nick (Michael Cera) frequents New York’s indie rock scene nursing a broken heart and a vague ability to play the bass. Norah (Kat Dennings) is questioning pretty much all of her assumptions about the world. Though they have nothing in common except for their taste in music, their chance encounter leads to an all-night quest to find a legendary band’s secret show and ends up becoming the first date in a romance that could change both their lives.

Nick & Norah’s Infinite Playlist is a comedy about two people thrust together for one hilarious, sleepless night of adventure in a world of mix tapes, late-night living, and, live, loud music.

As I always do, I’ve listed what we talked about above the interview. And to all those Scott Pilgrim fans….Michael says they’re still far away from filming.

And with that…enjoy the interview!

Michael Cera and Kat Dennings

  • We talk about the location of this interview
  • Does it ever get a little weird to keep on promoting something – they talk about the tour they went on
  • We talk about night shoots and they talk about how much they love them
  • When they go to NYC now, what’s the one place they have to go to immediately
  • What video games did they play on set – did they play Rock Band or Guitar Hero
  • Did they watch any movies before making this
  • Do they have any favorite scenes from the movie
  • What do they have coming up
  • And I ask Michael if Edgar Wright is making him train for Scott Pilgrim
