I am literally at 28,000 feet as I type these words. The reason for that is I’m flying back to Los Angeles from the international junket for Sony’s upcoming comedy “Year One” and my plane has internet. How amazing is technology.
Anyway, just a few hours ago I participated in a roundtable interview with Michael Cera as a reporter for our partner website Omelete. In the coming days I’ll have video interviews with Michael Cera, Jack Black, David Cross and director Harold Ramis. But with everyone clamoring for info on the “Arrested Development” movie, I figured you’d like to hear what he said right now. Unfortunately, the news is not good.
When I asked Michael if he thought the “Arrested Development” movie would ever happen, his response was:
“I think it will. Yeah. I don’t see why it wouldn’t. I don’t think it will happen for awhile.”
I then said a lot of the cast members have said Mitch is working on the script and maybe you’d be shooting later this year.
Michael then replied, “But there is no rush. I think he should take his time. I know it means a lot to Mitch. There is no rush, really. I don’t think.”
So if you were excited the film would be going in front of the cameras sometime soon, it’s probably time to extinguish that dream. As a huge fan of the show, I’m more than happy to wait for writer/director Mitch Hurwitz to get it right. I just hope it’ll eventually happen.

I watch shows almost exclusively on FOX as a general rule, because I dislike people and want to drain the Earth of all of its natural resources before blowing the sucker up. Of course I can't hatch my evil plan until after this movie is made. I must live long enough to see it. I recall that I watched part of an episode at an advertising event and found it bizarre and clearly watchable.
I started watching it from the beginning on FOX, because it is what all of us perpetrators of evil do. I have also supported evil and horror by watching the show on Hulu and purchasing all three seasons. I am quite an evil, soul sucking fan. I find that running marathon sessions of the show is best. Because of the quick cutting, one episode goes by too fast and I don't soak up enough evil FOX vibe. If I try less than a third episode, I become violently ill.
The chemistry between the cast members and the narrator is just terrific. It is the best ensemble cast since Seinfeld.

My wife and I have discovered AD through netflix. We live way out in Montana and only get one channel, so we are late comers to this brilliant show. We watched all three seasons and began it over for a second run. It is the funniest smartest show since Seinfeld. The actors are fantastic and make you laugh for days. I can't wait for the movie and the many sequels.

I discovered Arrested Development online @ hulu.com. I maybe heard about it once or twice from a few passing acquaintances years back but I never paid any mind to it. I’ve never even seen commercials for it!(I rarely watch Fox except for House, which I watch online now) I watched the entire series online and I was blown away! I can’t believe this got cancelled! I really really hope the movie happens, and if it does well maybe they’ll continue the series again! Ok, maybe that’s wishful thinking, but I agree with Michael Cera, they should take their time and get it right–but I hope they get it right soon! And if not, there’s always money in the banana stand

AD is my all time favorite show and i have been waiting for this movie for an eternity,well it feels like an eternity, but im glad that they are taking their time to make sure that the movie will kick as much ass as the show did. i am sooo excited!!!

Wow!, this became a high quality post. In principle I want to write like that too – taking time and real effort to have a good article… but exactly what can I have faith that… I procrastinate a great deal and do not appear to get something done
