Opening today in New York and Los Angeles is director Peter Jackson’s latest film The Lovely Bones. Based on the Novel by Alice Sebold, The Lovely Bones is about a 14-year old girl named Susie Salmon who is murdered on her way home from school. From heaven, Susie keeps watch over her grieving family and friends, as well as her killer and the detective working on her case. The film stars Rachel Weisz, Mark Wahlberg, Susan Sarandon, Stanley Tucci, Michael Imperioli and Saoirse Ronan.
To help promote the film, our partners at Omelete were invited to the international press day and they sent me. But rather than wait till Christmas Day when the film will be playing in a lot more of the country, I’ve decided to slowly post the video interviews with the cast over the next few weeks, with Michael Imperioli up first. In the film, he plays the detective working the case.
During our conversation we talked about if he still has to research when playing a cop or a gangster, working for Peter Jackson, is he on Twitter/Facebook and what does he think about social networking, we talk about Life on Mars, and we end our conversation chatting about the upcoming HBO show Boardwalk Empire and why isn’t he on it. If you’re a fan of Michael Imperioli, I’m confident you’ll like the interview. Take a look:
Look for interviews with the rest of the cast and Peter Jackson in the next few weeks.
- Has he reached the point where he doesn’t have to research playing a cop or a gangster
- What is it about Peter Jackson that makes him so special
- Is he into Twitter or Facebook
- Life on Mars talk
- Why is he not on the new HBO show Boardwalk Empire
