Well, this is exciting.  The cast for Legendary's upcoming King Kong reboot keeps getting better and better.  The film is set to star Tom Hiddleston and J.K. Simmons, and now it looks like they've snagged another fantastic actor with Michael Keaton in negotiations to join the project.  Keaton is in the midst of quite the career resurgence,  appearing in three films last year, and is currently awash in award buzz for his work in Birdman.  Not only is this exciting news for Skull Island, but it's great that Keaton seemingly plans to ride this wave to further exciting projects.
Kong: Skull island is set to hit theaters March 10, 2017.  Jordan Vogt-Roberts (The Kings of Summer) will direct a screenplay from John Gatins (Flight) and Max Borenstein (Godzilla) about a team of explorers who voyage to the island Kong calls home. Hit the jump for more. birdman-michael-keaton According to Deadline, Michael Keaton is circling an unknown role in Legendary's King Kong origin tale.  Not much is known about the film at this point beyond the basic logline and that it will be a hard reboot while honoring existing King Kong lore, but with Legendary's track record and the list of talent they're putting together, all signs point to this being a great Kong movie.
