‘Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children’: Meet the Peculiars in New Images and GIFs

     April 21, 2016

There’s a new world coming, and it’s the world of Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children. Tim Burton directs the film based on the popular young-adult novel of the same name, and 20th Century Fox wants you to meet the little supernaturally talented tykes. To that end, here are some GIFs, some you’ve seen before highlighting scenes from the trailer, and ones you haven’t featuring Miss Peregrine herself.

Asa Butterfield (Ender’s Game) portrays Jake, a troubled boy who, on the advice of his therapist, travels to find the abandoned orphanage where his grandfather was said to have lived. As it turns out, the orphanage is a portal to another reality that’s the home of a shapeshifting entity named Miss Peregrine (Eva Green) and the “Peculiars” she protects.

There are gifted youngsters who can create fire, command superhuman strength, are as light as air, have an extra mouth, come in twos, or are invisible. Then there are the “hollows” who try and eat them. Meet some of the characters in the GIFs below:

Chris O’Dowd, Ella Purnell, Allison Janney, Rupert Everett, Terence Stamp, Judi Dench, and Samuel L. Jackson also feature in the cast. Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children is scheduled for theaters on September 30th. Here’s the official plot synopsis:

From visionary director Tim Burton, and based upon the best-selling novel, comes an unforgettable motion picture experience.
