Paramount has released the first trailer for Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol, the fourth entry in the spy franchise. The trailer is pretty much everything you want out of a Mission: Impossible movie, and it looks like it could be the best yet. The action looks great without being cheesy or showy, and the cast assembled here is top-notch. Plus, freaking Brad Bird (Ratatouille) is making his live-action directorial debut.
Tom Cruise, Simon Pegg, and Ving Rhames reprise their series roles, joined by Jeremy Renner, Josh Holloway, Anil Kapoor, Léa Seydoux, and Vladimir Mashkov. Mission: Impossible III director J.J. Abrams is on board as producer. Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol opens on December 16. Watch the trailer after the jump.

Looks good. Reckon Brad Bird will fly with this! Although, it might get a bit daft with the over-blown action. M:I 3 was a great return to form after the boring Woo instalment.

Ving Rhames isn’t in it, I think they have a stock actor tag they use and no one seems to find it a priority to update it with proper cast info.

Ghost Protocol is the new Electric Boogaloo. One of the most terrible titles I’ve ever heard for a movie. How come we only see a split second of Josh Holloway? I hate to say it, but he’s lost in the trailer…
Are you so desperate to complain about something that you’re going to nit pick at the title. I highly doubt someone is not going to see it because it has the subtitle Ghost Protocol. It’s not even that bad! It sounds like a tom clancy book.
