Here’s the official synopsis for Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol (opens December 21st):
Director Brad Bird and Producer J.J. Abrams bring us the action packed, entertainment event of the holiday season with MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE – GHOST PROTOCOL.
The new film in the series, which has grossed $2 billion dollars worldwide, will feature a new team: Tom Cruise, Jeremy Renner, Paula Patton and Simon Pegg.
This is not just another mission.
The IMF is shut down when it’s implicated in a global terrorist bombing plot. Ghost Protocol is initiated and Ethan Hunt and his rogue new team must go undercover to clear their organization’s name. No help, no contact, off the grid. You have never seen a mission grittier and more intense than this.

In this beautiful movie about the end of the world, Justine (Kirsten Dunst) and Michael (Alexander Skarsgård) are celebrating their marriage at a sumptuous party in the home of her sister Claire (Charlotte Gainsbourg), and brother-in-law John (Kiefer Sutherland). Despite Claire’s best efforts the wedding is a fiasco, with family tensions mounting and relationships fraying. Meanwhile, a planet called Melancholia is heading directly towards Earth… Melancholia is a psychological disaster film from director Lars von Trier.

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo is about a disgraced journalist (Daniel Craig) who is hired to investigate the decades-old disappearance of a young woman. Rooney Mara plays the enimagtic hacker Lisbeth Salander who harbors her own dark secrets. David Fincher directed the new adaptation of Stieg Larssons’ best-selling novel. The film opens December 21st.

Tom Cruise stated that all of the Mission Impossible movies are set in their own alternate reality/universe and are not sequels or connected to each other. That explains why there is no continuity between the movies and why they keep using mostly new casts.
Paula Patton gave birth to her first child with her toyboy husband Robin Thicke merely five months before filming began. In Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol, she flaunts her post-pregnancy figure that boasts an ample cleavage, fuller legs and a fuller backside.
I’m a new mother myself and I highly recommend having children. My hips are bigger…my breasts are bigger. I’m loving it! I feel like more of a woman now. It definitely makes me feel so much sexier than ever before.
From the cast alone, The Big Year looks like it will make a billion dollars.
Mission: Impossible–Ghost Protocol looks good, so I’m excited for that. As for Melancholia, I’m tired of disaster flicks, so it holds no interest to me, even though the cast is pretty solid all around. I don’t know much about The Big Year, but it looks intruiging solely on the cast that it has. Jack Black? Steve Martin? Owen Wilson? Jim Parsons? Sign me up, please! And last but not least, I’m very excited to see The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. I’m a huge fan of the series–both the Swedish films and the book themselves–so I am dying to see what David Fincher can do with this tale. It’s my most anticipated film of what’s left of this year; J. Edgar, War Horse, The Adventures of Tintin, and Contangion look amazing as well.
I kind of have this feeling that Melancholia will be this year’s Black Swan. Just like Natalie Portman, Kirsten Dunst seems to be coming into her own as an actress with this role. Both started out young with stand out performances (Leon: The Professional, Interview with the Vampire), starred in big blockbuster franchises (Star Wars, Spider-Man) and both are among the most beautiful women in the world. Kirsten in this role though, looks like she’s disappearing into this dark, psychological role and if her Best Actress win at Cannes is any indication, an Oscar nomination is on her way.
