Tom Cruise had a blade less than an inch away from his eye during a fight scene with Dougray Scott in Mission: Impossible 2, he was pummeled by 16 tons of water when that enormous fish tank burst open in Mission: Impossible and he ran down the world’s tallest building in Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol.  Is it really that surprising that the guy’s busy hanging from a plane 5,000 feet in the air while shooting Mission: Impossible 5?

A bunch of photos just surfaced from the Great Britain set of the franchise’s latest installment featuring Cruise holding tight to the door of a moving Airbus A400M in a full tailored suit.  I’d say that’s pretty typical – for Cruise at least.  Hit the jump for more on the Mission: Impossible 5 stunt.  The film is set to open on December 25, 2015 and also stars Simon Pegg, Jeremy Renner, Ving Rhames, Alex Baldwin and Rebecca Ferguson.

The photos come from The Daily Mail and show a teeny tiny Cruise holding tight to an enormous airborne aircraft.  The stunt is pretty daring no matter what, but the outlet does note that he’s wearing two safety harnesses and also had stunt coordinator Wade Eastwood do some prep work.  Click here to check out the full set of images and we’ve also got select shots and a video of the plane flying high with Cruise hanging on for dear life embedded below.
