During tonight’s opening game of the World Series, Lionsgate debuted a new The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2 TV spot. After setting up the stakes with the quiet Mockingjay — Part 1, director Francis Lawrence brings the franchise to a close by sending Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence) and her team into one last arena — the trap-rigged streets of the Capitol, where they plan one last grand stand against the tyrannical President Snow (Donald Sutherland).

They’re going all out with the action on this one, but I hope it also has a satisfying emotional climax to go along with the bombast. While we’re all already casting our eyes towards the shiny new Star Wars franchise, I don’t want Hunger Games get overlooked. It’s been groundbreaking in its own way, and I think the films will continue to endure if they can stick the landing.

Check out the new The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2 TV spot below. The film opens November 20th, and also stars Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Woody Harrelson, Elizabeth Banks, Julianne Moore, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Jeffrey Wright, Sam Claflin, and Jena Malone.

Here’s the official synopsis for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2:

With the nation of Panem in a full scale war, Katniss confronts President Snow (Donald Sutherland) in the final showdown. Teamed with a group of her closest friends – including Gale (Liam Hemsworth), Finnick (Sam Claflin), and Peeta (Josh Hutcherson) – Katniss goes off on a mission with the unit from District 13 as they risk their lives to stage an assassination attempt on President Snow who has become increasingly obsessed with destroying her.  The mortal traps, enemies, and moral choices that await Katniss will challenge her more than any arena she faced in The Hunger Games.
