Monday TV Ratings: ‘The Big Bang Theory’ Dominates, ‘Gotham’ Slips

The Monday TV ratings for October 19th are in; here are some of the highlights:

  • As has more or less been the law on Monday nights since the sitcom first started airing on that particular week night, The Big Bang Theory dominated the entire night in the 8 p.m. slot, taking 3.7 in the key demos (down a tenth from last week) with 14.3 million viewers on CBS.
  • Beyond that, it was NBC’s night first and foremost, with The Voice taking in 3.1 in the demos in the 8 p.m. slot, pulling in some 11.1 million viewers. In the 10 p.m. slot, Blindspot was down to its lowest numbers but still took an admirable 2.1 in the demos with 7.8 million viewers.

    Meanwhile, at 8 p.m., ABC had solid showings for Dancing with the Stars with 1.9 in the demo, taking in some 12.2 million viewers. In the same time slot, Gotham was down two tenths to a same-day series low at 1.3, with 4.1 million viewers. On The CW, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend garnered a 0.9 with 1.1 million viewers in the 8 p.m. slot.

  • All alone In the 8:30 slot, CBS took in a 2.1 in the key demos with Life in Pieces, with some 8.6 million viewers.

  • In the 9 p.m. slot, CBS won out with Scorpion, with 1.8 in the demo and 9.3 million viewers in total. Fox, as expected, did not fair well with Minority Report, which came in with a 0.6 and 1.8 million viewers. Jane the Virgin, on The CW, was up a bit to a 0.5 with 1.3 million viewers in the same slot.
  • Behind Blindspot in the 10 p.m. slot, ABC’s Castle matched last week’s numbers with a 1.1 in key demos, with 6.9 million viewers, while NCIS: Los Angeles saw slight gains in the same slot for CBS, with 1.3 and 8.7 million viewers.
