If you’re a Mondo fan and headed to New York Comic-Con this weekend, I strongly advise you to get to the con when it opens Friday morning at 9:30am. That’s because even though most assumed Mondo would release their prints like they did in San Diego (one at a time), I’ve learned that when the doors open, everything is for sale!
But it gets better.
Late tonight, as the convention was closing, I was able to take pictures of everything at the Mondo booth! If you’ve been wondering what would be sold at NYCC, Mondo has prints for Shaun of the Dead, Lord of the Rings, The Iron Giant, Phantasm, City of the Living Dead, Kill Bill, The Foghorn Leghorn, and Friday the 13th Part III 3D! In addition, a number of these prints have variants. Hit the jump for a ton of images and artists info.
As most of you know, Scott Wampler usually handles all the Mondo stuff in our Limited Paper column, and he breaks everything down by artist. Due to wanting to post this as fast as possible, here’s a list of the movies that received prints, the artists who designed them, and a ton of images.
As I previously mentioned, some of these prints have variants. From what I could tell, the print runs for the variants are 175 each (give or take). There is some great stuff below. Let me know what your favorites are in the comments. My vote is for the Jock Shaun of the Dead variant, but I think all of them are great.
The Iron Giant – Mike Mitchell
Shaun of the Dead – Jock
Phantasm – Phantom City Creative
Lord of the Rings – Shan Jiang
City of the Living Dead – Randy Ortiz
Beatrix (Kill Bill) – Drake
Treebeard (Lord of the Rings) – Todd Slater
The Foghorn Leghorn – Tom Whalen
Friday the 13th Part III 3D – Jay Shaw

Going Sunday. Nothing here I am especially excited about though. The Friday the 13th one is cool but I am not really into those movie enough to buy one to frame and hang on my wall. Oh well!
Not looking forward to how much I am going to pay for one of those Shaun of the Dead posters on eBay.
Is there any where to buy the Shaun poster online or is this just as Mondo NYCC?
Yea, like I said. All of the “collectors” will be selling them on eBay for double or triple the cost. Good Luck my friend.
Holy crap 350 bucks for the Shaun of The Dead well shaun of the ed poster! That’s 217 quid (I’m British) too steep for me for a poster.
I was AT the Friday The 13th 3D and they never sold that poster??????!!!!!!!!!
I even asked them, and they said they were only making a poster for the San Antonio showing.
WTF?????????????
