Seeking a Friend for the End of the World will open opposite the thriller House at the End of the Street starring Jennifer Lawrence; the sci-fi action film Lockout starring Guy Pearce; the atrocious-looking romance flick The Lucky One starring Zac Efron; the fifth installment in the un-killable Scary Movie franchise; and John Hillcoat‘s The Wettest County starring Shia LaBeouf, Tom Hardy, Jessica Chastain, Gary Oldman, Mia Wasikowska, and Guy Pearce.

Moonrise Kingdom opens in limited release so it won’t be directly competing with the blockbuster Men in Black 3, but in a better world Anderson’s movie would crush all its box office competition.
