Morgan Freeman in Talks to Join Luc Besson’s LUCY; Brooklyn Decker Set for Joe Carnahan’s STRETCH

  • Morgan Freeman (The Dark Knight) is in final negotiations to join Scarlett Johansson in Luc Besson’s new action-thriller, Lucy.
  • Brooklyn Decker (Battleship) is set to join Stretch, the low-budget action-comedy from Joe Carnahan that stars Patrick Wilson, Chris Pine and Ed Helms.

The Wrap reports brooklyn deckerthat Freeman is in final talks for Lucy, a story about a reluctant drug mule (Johansson) who is transformed into an incredible fighter when one of the designer drugs enters her system.  Although she gains the powers of clairvoyance, telekinesis and an ability to disregard pain and emotion, she must race against the clock in order to survive.  Freeman would play “a professor well-versed in evolution and the capabilities of the human brain who Lucy is on a mission to find before she dies.”  Freeman appeared in Oblivion, Olympus Has Fallen and Now You See Me already this year and is currently filming Wally Pfister’s Transcendence.  He’ll also voice a role in The Lego Movie.

The Wrap also reports that Decker has joined Stretch.  The story centers on “a down-on-his-luck limo driver named Stretch (Wilson) who hopes to relieve his debt to a bookie by driving around a mysterious billionaire (Pine) trying to sell his ledger of criminal associates to the highest bidder.”  Helms will play one of Stretch’s co-workers who acts as the man’s conscience.  Decker is expected to play “Wilson’s ex-girlfriend, a wild material girl who is engaged to be married to another man.”
