Somewhere, deep in the depths of my soul, where I hold out hope that there is still some creative entity working on "The Simpsons" and that the show hasn't become so completely reflexive as to snuff out all humor, I'd like to believe that before coming to Morgan Spurlock to do a documentary on "The Simpsons", someone asked Errol Morris because that would be awesome.  And if Errol Morris turned them down, so be it.  But no, they probably went straight to Spurlock because, man, that guy is wacky with his porno-mustache and eating McDonalds.  I don't think Spurlock is necessarily the worst, but I really hated his last film "Where In The World is Osama Bin Laden?" and my question is how much he'll try to inject himself into the Simpsons' twenty year history or how the shows fans have steadily dropped off over the last decade or so.  Probably not.

"The Simpsons 20th Anniversary Special in 3-D on Ice" will air on January 14, 2010 on Fox.  It will neither be in 3-D or on Ice.  It will, however, probably feature wry voice-over.
