Warner Bros. Paints Their 2010-2011 Schedule

You may not always agree with where Warner Bros. schedules their films ("Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" moved from last November to this July—never forget) but you can't argue that they don't have their shit together when it comes to carving out that schedule.  That's exactly what they've done today as they've placed their tentpoles around the calendar for 2010 and parts of 2011.

The first big move is the kicking of "Sherlock Holmes" from Thanksgiving of this year to Christmas Day meaning that families can still gather together to watch Robert Downey Jr. beat the shit out of people AND solve mysteries.

Next up is planting "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II" at July 15, 2011 where it will compete with "The Avengers" (provided that film still happens and holds that date and Marvel can stop their "Iron Man 2" headaches).

Speaking of comic-book properties, WB knows where it's going to put theirs as they're marking August 6th, 2010 for "Jonah Hex" and December 17th, 2010 for "Green Lantern".  Every time Warner Bros gets one of its superhero movies off the ground, an angel gets its wings, which is probably why so many angels are just walking around.

Finally, from the high-profile director/project folder, Chris Nolan's "Inception" is slated to hit theatres on July 16, 2010, Zack Snyder's "Sucker Punch" is going to hit you in the face on October 8, 2010, and Louis Letterier's remake of "Clash of the Titans" will be one of Warner's first big films of 2010 when it hits on March 26th of that year.

Of course, maybe I should say "If" for all these films.  As always, release dates are highly subject to change and I'd be surprised if at least some of these films didn't find new homes, whether it be by a few days, weeks, or months.

Click here to hope you can keep a movie on schedule.
