Video: The Digital Cameras of CRANK High Voltage

Opening next Friday is a film I can’t wait to see. It’s called “Crank High Voltage” and, yes, it’s the sequel to “Crank”. While the first film ended in a way that would make a sequel appear impossible, you have to admit that logic went out the window when you entered the the world of Chev Chelios. In fact, I think the world is just the amazing dream of writer/directors Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor. After all, who else could come up with this crazy shit?

Anyway, one of the cool things about the sequel is the way they shot the film – as they didn’t use film at all. Instead, Neveldine/Taylor used store bought digital cameras (the Canon Canon XH-A1 and the Canon HF10) and they also invented crazy new ways to shoot action scenes. For more info on the cameras you can click here.

As you’ll see in the video below, they attached cameras to everything you can think of. Also, when I posted my set visit the other day, I mentioned how Mark Neveldine was fearless when filming. In the video below, when you see the guy on rollerblades following the car or doing some other crazy shit – that’s Neveldine.

While it remains to be seen what audiences will think, we’ll all know next weekend when “Crank High Voltage” opens.

Either way, this is a cool video so check it out. Also, here’s a ton of movie clips and TV spots from "Crank High Voltage" and I’m on Twitter.
