DreamWorks Animation has released the first trailer for director Rob Minkoff‘s (The Lion King) new film Mr. Peabody & Sherman have been released online.  Based on the titular characters from the Rocky and Bullwinkle Show, the film features the voices of Ty Burrell as the genius dog Mr. Peabody and Max Charles as his adopted son Sherman. Sadly, this trailer did absolutely nothing for me other than one kind of funny joke at the end.  It’s different footage than the Spanish-language version we posted yesterday, but even in English this feels incredibly forgettable.

Hit the jump to watch the trailer.  The film also features the voices of Stephen Colbert, Ariel Winter, Leslie Mann, Stanley Tucci, Allison Janney, Patrick Warburton, and Mel BrooksMr. Peabody & Sherman opens on March 7, 2014.

Here’s the official synopsis:

Mr. Peabody, the most accomplished dog in the world, and his mischievous boy Sherman, use their time machine – The Wabac – to go on the most outrageous adventures known to man or dog. But when Sherman takes The Wabac out for a joyride to impress his friend Penny, they accidently rip a hole in the universe, wreaking havoc on the most important events in world history.  Before they forever alter the past, present and future, Mr. Peabody must come to their rescue, ultimately facing the most daunting challenge of any era:  figuring out how to be a parent. Together, the time traveling trio will make their  mark on history.

Hmm, I want to like it. It just feels so homogenized and I just want to here the narrator from the old shows and the dead pan wit. Maybe they at least do some homage? Or maybe it’s there but might confuse in the trailers? I’ll probably see this with the kids, so I’m always hoping against reason. :P

I like the character design, I can’t help but thinking this is simmilar to Stewie and Brian time travelling adventures from family guy.

Does anyone even look at the originals before they begin … let’s see … nope.

Something feels off about this sentence:

“DreamWorks Animation has released the first trailer for director Rob Minkoff‘s (The Lion King) new film Mr. Peabody & Sherman have been released online.”

Cut off the “…have been release online” part or “DreamWorks Animation has released…” part.

… absolute garbage. Not even a hint of the original concept.

Recently I was REALLY low on cash and debts were eating me from all sides! That was UNTIL I decided to make money on the internet! I went to surveymoneymaker dot net, and started filling in surveys for cash, and surely I’ve been far more able to pay my bills!! I’m so glad, I did this! – x9hn
