For most TV shows, the wait between seasons is incredibly long. Adding to that is the fact that there is so much TV, a lot of storylines and plots and characters get lodged in your brain in between, say, the massive finale of Mr. Robot Season 1 and the premiere of Season 2. While some of the biggest reveals may still be fresh on your mind (like the true identity of Christian Slater’s Mr. Robot, or of Carly Chaiken’s Darlene), there may be other details you’ve forgotten. And of course, there are still some mysteries that are yet to be revealed (where is Martin Wallström’s Tyrell Wellick?!)
USA has released a new video recap that serves as a nice reminder for Season 1’s biggest twists, though the nuances of things like Angela (Portia Doubleday) and Elliot (Rami Malek’s) personal connection to E Corps evil doings, Elliot’s dealings with White Rose (and the reveal in the finale’s stinger) are not addressed here. So essentially, if you haven’t caught up with Season 1 and are looking to jump into Season 2, don’t watch this video — go and watch all of Season 1. It is well worth it. And since I’ve seen the first two episodes of Season 2, I can also definitely say that this video doesn’t tell you nearly enough to feel caught up for the new season. Also, Season 1 is seriously awesome.

We recently learned that Season 2 will be extended from 10 episodes to 12, and that USA will be adding a live after-show called Hacking Robot (:groan:). The premiere will also be back-to-back with limited commercials, and will pick up 30 days after the fsociety 5/9 hack on Evil Corp. Season 2 will also explore “the consequences of that attack as well as the illusion of control.” Most importantly, will we find out who was at the door?
Mr. Robot Season 2 premieres July 13th at 10 p.m. ET on USA.
