USA has unveiled the first official Mr. Robot Season 2 trailer, giving us our first full look at what’s in store for the second season of Sam Esmail’s buzzworthy psychological thriller series. The show’s first season was a roller coaster ride of plot and character, leading to a predictable but nevertheless impactful twist that had major ramifications for all of the characters involved. Season 2 looks to up the head-trippiness of the show even further, as Rami Malek’s Elliot begins to question what’s real and what’s not as the days after F Society’s major hack remain a mystery.

Malek is a forced to be reckoned with on this show, and I’m both excited and terrified by the prospect of the lead character unraveling even further throughout the second season. The Season 1 finale teed up a number of fascinating story possibilities, and Esmail—who directs every episode of the second season himself—looks to be capitalizing on the story potential in a major way. I’m curious to see how the show progresses now that the true extent of Elliot’s mental illness has been revealed, and what impact—if any—it has on the series’ tremendously unique visual style.

For now, I’m just excited to become obsessed with Mr. Robot for another couple of months when Season 2 premieres on July 13th. Check out the trailer below, via USA. The series also stars Christian Slater, Portia Doubleday, Carly Chaikin, Martin Wallström, Grace Gummer, Michael Cristofer, and Stephanie Cornelissen.

Here’s the official synopsis for Mr. Robot Season 2:

ROBOT follows Elliot Alderson (Rami Malek), a young cyber-security engineer who becomes involved in the underground hacker group fsociety, after being recruited by their mysterious leader (Christian Slater). Following the events of fsociety’s hack on multi-national company Evil Corp, the second season will explore the consequences of that attack as well as the illusion of control.
