For those just tuning in, here’s a full synopsis for Avatar:

We enter the alien world through the eyes of Jake Sully, a former Marine confined to a wheelchair. But despite his broken body, Jake is still a warrior at heart. He is recruited to travel light years to the human outpost on Pandora, where corporations are mining a rare mineral that is the key to solving Earth’s energy crisis. Because the atmosphere of Pandora is toxic, they have created the Avatar Program, in which human “drivers” have their consciousness linked to an avatar, a remotely-controlled biological body that can survive in the lethal air. These avatars are genetically engineered hybrids of human DNA mixed with DNA from the natives of Pandora… the Na’vi.

Reborn in his avatar form, Jake can walk again. He is given a mission to infiltrate the Na’vi, who have become a major obstacle to mining the precious ore. But a beautiful Na’vi female, Neytiri, saves Jake’s life, and this changes everything. Jake is taken in by her clan, and learns to become one of them, which involves many tests and adventures. As Jake’s relationship with his reluctant teacher Neytiri deepens, he learns to respect the Na’vi way and finally takes his place among them. Soon he will face the ultimate test as he leads them in an epic battle that will decide nothing less than the fate of an entire world.

You know with all this stuff that’s going on, you would start to think they might be regretting holding everything back for so long. I mean press for Avatar has only been going on for four months which isn’t very long to market the biggest sci-fi film of all time. I’ve kind of enjoyed the lack of major press. I’m looking forward to a sort of virgin Avatar experience. I am prepared to have my mind blown.

It all smacks of desperation. Anyone who has seen the clips can tell that this is going to be a box office disaster. Big opening weekend for the fanboys, a bunch of bad reviews and then right over the cliff. I predict more negative press when some people are stricken with seizures while watching it in IMAX (this based on the early review I read the other day in which the author dubbed the action sequences to be “literally vomit inducing”).
This will not be another Titanic. Women have no interest in this mess and most guys (guys – not fanboys) think it looks girlish (because it does).

yet you come on here immediately after reading this story and post 7 lines of opinion (most of which is very emotional)

ur the only one that seems desperate here.

maybe, if this movie really were to suck as much as you hope it does, you wouldnt be wasting your time posting comments. When people really believe a movie will suck completely and “smacks of desperation”, they dont keep wasting their precious time writing lengthy rants. They get to the point where they have so little interest in the movie that stop following its developement.

u obviously have not lost interest.
