New Posters for THE MUPPETS, YOUNG ADULT, and TITANTIC 3D

New posters have been released for The Muppets, Jason Reitman‘s Young Adult, and James Cameron‘s 3D re-release of TitanicThe Muppets ads continue to parody other 2011 movies and this time the target is The Twilight Saga.  If Taylor Lautner was replaced by Rowlf, it would be a dramatic improvement for the series.  The new poster for Young Adult doesn’t hold a candle to the excellent teaser poster, but it does make Charlize Theron look almost as horrifying as she was in Monster.  Finally, I’m not sure why Paramount felt the need to bury Kate Winslet‘s face in Leonardo DiCaprio‘s chest.  The poster is also sorely lacking a sad Billy Zane in the background.

Hit the jump to check out the posters.  The Muppets opens November 23rd.  Young Adult opens in limited release on December 9th before going wide on December 16th.  Titantic opens in 2D and 3D on April 6, 2012.

Here’s the synopsis for The Muppets:

On vacation in Los Angeles, Walter, the world’s biggest Muppet fan, and his friends Gary (Jason Segel) and Mary (Amy Adams) from Smalltown, USA, discover the nefarious plan of oilman Tex Richman (Chris Cooper) to raze the Muppet Theater and drill for the oil recently discovered beneath the Muppets’ former stomping grounds. To stage The Greatest Muppet Telethon Ever and raise the $10 million needed to save the theater, Walter, Mary and Gary help Kermit reunite the Muppets, who have all gone their separate ways: Fozzie now performs with a Reno casino tribute band called the Moopets, Miss Piggy is a plus-size fashion editor at Vogue Paris, Animal is in a Santa Barbara clinic for anger management, and Gonzo is a high-powered plumbing magnate.

Here’s the synopsis for Young Adult:

Academy Award(R) winner Charlize Theron plays Mavis Gary, a writer of teen literature who returns to her small hometown to relive her glory days and attempt to reclaim her happily married high school sweetheart (Patrick Wilson). When returning home proves more difficult than she thought, Mavis forms an unusual bond with a former classmate (Patton Oswalt) who hasn’t quite gotten over high school, either.

Here’s my unofficial synopsis for Titanic:

The rich lady and the poor kid find love and she lets him draw her naked, but then the ship crashes into an iceberg and their love is doomed and stuff.  Also, there’s some old lady who lied about losing this expensive jewel and then she just threw it away to spite poor Bill Paxton who never did nothing to nobody.

Anyone who goes to see this 1997 movie which James Cameron is still milking is living in the past. Until recently, he was still milking Avatar as well. All those billions of dollars are not enough for him. You don’t see Nolan and Abrams milking Batman and Star Trek.

Excellent reasoning. I yield to your superior intellect.

I wholeheartedly agree with Funey (below).

Actually, if anyone goes to see titanic is because wants to have a fun time, this movie is grand entertainment, leave the man alone and have a good time with ur friends at the movies

These Muppets posters aren’t even funny and I find them insulting to the masterful Twilight films.

    • Sam

You’re right, they aren’t as funny as the fact that there is people that consider the twilight films “masterful”

Did I see the words masterful and Twilight next to each other in a sentence. There must’ve been sarcasm somewhere in that text.

        agreed

Also agreed, and on that bottom muppets poster the “t” of muppet and “s” of saga are overlapping.

  • kimbo

Why does this goldberg guy feel the need to try to insult the source material in every blurb he writes. Doesn’t he realize it makes him lose a ton of credibility?
