Universal has released the first My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2 trailer which reveals just which members of the extended Portokalos family will be tying the knot this time around. The original 2002 film centered on Toula Portokalos (Nia Vardalos) and her not-so-Greek fiancé, Ian (John Corbett) as Toula's family prepared for their wedding in as obtrusive yet loving a way as possible. That film went on to a worldwide box office take of almost $369 million.

Fourteen years later, the sequel, slated for a March 2016 release, turns the spotlight on Toula's college-aged daughter, Paris (Elena Kampouris). As the first trailer shows, the film also rekindles the spark between Toula and Ian while teasing another spirited Portokalos wedding. My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2 also plays up three levels of generational differences while keeping the same sense of humor that made the original so appealing.

Check out the My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2 trailer below. The film stars Nia Vardalos and John Corbett.

Vardalos wrote the script for the original film and has also done so for the sequel. This time around, the family comedy will be directed by Kirk Jones (What to Expect When You're Expecting). You can also hear from Vardalos herself as she talks about the sequel on NBC's The Today Show:
