A quartet of lovely ladies have signed on to star alongside Paul Rudd in My Idiot BrotherTHR reports that Elizabeth Banks, Zooey Deschanel, Emily Mortimer, and Rashida Jones have joined the Jesse Peretz-directed comedy about "an idealist (Rudd) who crashes at the homes of his three ambitious sisters (Banks, Deschanel, and Mortimer) and brings truth, happiness and a sunny disposition into their lives while also wreaking havoc."

Banks will play a career-driven single woman "who's about to get her big break in journalism after spending years writing about accessories for a fashion magazine."  Deschanel is a bisexual whose tendency towards flakiness and lying are getting in the way of moving forward with her caring, responsible girlfriend (played by Jones).  Finally, Mortimer plays a "Park Slope mom too worried about having the perfect life and children to notice that her marriage is falling apart."  The Deschanel plotline sounds interesting, but the Banks and Mortimer storylines sound painfully familiar.  Thankfully, I think Banks, Mortimer, and the always-reliable Rudd can make those stories work.
