Two spectacular guest star announcements for two of my favorite comedy series are coming your way. First up, EW reports the flamboyant (and I mean that in the best way possible) Tony award winning Nathan Lane (The Birdcage, The Producers) has signed on to guest star on ABC's Modern Family. Lane will guest star in one of the earlier episodes in the second season as Cam’s (Eric Stonestreet) flamboyant (see, I told you) friend Pepper. I'm willing to bet that his partner Mitchell (Jesse Tyler Ferguson) isn't going to be too keen on Pepper.

And for fans of The Office, after an impressive turn on FX's Justified, the underrated Timothy Olyphant will venture into comedy at NBC for at least two episodes during Steve Carell's final season.  More after the jump:

TV Guide talked to the series' writer/producer Paul Lieberstein (who also plays Toby Flenderson) who revealed what Olyphant is doing in Scranton. Lieberstein says, "He steals clients away from Jim and Michael and Dwight, so they have a little sting set up. They set up a fake company to see what his secret is." He also mentioned some other choice plot points for Steve Carell's final season as Michael Scott, but since I'm adverse to spoiling things like that, you'll have to head over to TV Guide to check out the details. If you want a bit of a tease just know that there's nepotism, herpes and the potential for love.
