Neal McDonough is in talks for a part in Joe Johnston's Captain America: The First Avenger according to Deadline. McDonough would play Dum Dum Dugan, a character who according to Wikipedia "is an officer of S.H.I.E.L.D. and is one of the most experienced members of Nick Fury's team, known for his marksmanship with rifles and for his impressive physique. He is recognized for his trademark bowler hat." This is one of the roles Josh Holloway was recently rumored to be discussing with Marvel. McDonough would co-star with previously announced Chris Evans, Hugo Weaving, Sebastian Stan and Hayley Atwell. Dugan was born in Boston, Massachusetts. During World War II, while working as a circus strongman, Dugan helps Nick Fury and Sam “Happy” Sawyer escape the Nazis during a mission recounted in issue 34. Dugan later joins the British Army, and when Sawyer is charged with creating Fury’s First Attack Squad, also known as the Howling Commandos, Sawyer invites Dugan to become second in command. His exceptional strength saves the day in several of his adventures in the Sgt. Fury comic books.

Captain America Dum Dum Dugan
