Universal Pictures has released the first red-band trailer for director Nicholas Stoller’s (Forgetting Sarah Marshall) new comedy Neighbors.  Previously titled Townies, the film stars Seth Rogen and Rose Byrne as a young couple who move in next door to a fraternity house.  The thirty-somethings soon find themselves the victims of pranks (and other unsightly activities) after an attempt to welcome the Delta Psi Beta chapter goes awkwardly awry.  There are plenty of great snippets of what are sure to be funny moments throughout the picture as Neighbors takes a look at the hard-partying Greek life of films like Old School, Animal House and PCU from the viewpoint of the squares on the outside.  And while Christopher Mintz-Plasse doesn’t get any dialogue, he sure does get a moment.

Hit the jump to watch the red-band trailer.  The film also stars Zac Efron, Dave Franco, Jake Johnson, Ike Barinholtz, Jason Mantozoukas, and Lisa KudrowNeighbors opens in theaters on May 9, 2014.

Looks good. I would watch anything produced by Evan Goldberg and Seth Rogen.

Don’t get me wrong, this looks pretty funny, but the common depiction of these types of unrealistic fraternities are really getting old.

    • HeSaidSheSaidReviewSite

Yeah, those poor fraternities, being misrepresented since the beginning of time.

  • ZladSupersonik

    Not even a giggle.

Its fun to see Zac Efron act like an all out badguy, for once. I honestly think there are way too many squeaky clean actors to fill all the Nicholas Sparks roles. He really needs to embrace his inner villain if he wants to stay relevant.
Also, loved him in 17 Again. Really hope he doesn’t blow his career.

I thought it looked pretty funny. Laughed a couple of times. Like when he’s just walking his baby and there’s a guy just fucking a girl on his porch haha.
And I love Forgetting Sarah Marshal so I’m all in for seeing this.
And remember guys, people hated on the “This is the End” trailers as well and look how that turned out.

    No Dan Aykryod?

Zac Efron is actually starting to shape his carreer into something that holds value instead of some Disney processed crap. If the guy can wipe off that Disney stench he may just find himself better roles. This is a pretty smart career move on his part if the movie plays out right.

There was a slight disconnect between the description and trailer (didn’t pick up on the arrested development) but the movie looks funny.
