Neil Patrick Harris is set to make his feature directing debut with the indie romantic comedy Aaron and Sarah starring Emma Roberts and Josh Hutcherson.  Risky Business reports that the film, written by Chad Gomez Creasey and Dara Resnik Creasey (Pushing Daisies), "follows a geeky guy and a popular girl who become friends as freshmen in high school and see their relationship deepen through the four years, four proms and one funeral before graduation."  The film was originally titled "B.F.F." and previously had David O. Russell (I Heart Huckabees) attached to direct and Joe Nussbaum (Sydney White) set to helm before him.  I believe that Russell and Nussbaum were unable to complete the film because of one key failing: not being the motherfuckin' NPH.

Harris, who can currently be seen being awesome on How I Met Your Mother, will next appear in theaters in CBS Films' Beastly, the live-action/CGI Smurfs movie, and the third Harold & Kumar film.  Roberts will next be seen in Scream 4.  Hutcherson is currently shooting the horror film Detention and then will move on to Journey 2: The Mysterious Island co-starring Dwayne Johnson and Michael Caine.
