Entertainment Tonight has a new behind-the-scenes featurette for Iron Man 2 plus there’s a new Japanese TV spot for the film. The behind-the-scenes stuff centers on the relationship between Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) and Pepper Potts (Gwyneth Paltrow). It sounds like they’re going to have the same fun banter as the first film, but it also seems like the romantic tension between the two won’t develop very much. That’s a shame because Downey and Paltrow have great chemistry and I think it would be the kind of romantic relationship we haven’t seen in a superhero movie thus far.
The international TV spot [via AICN] is also worth checking out because it not only showcases new footage but because the voice over guy is fantastic. I have no idea what he’s saying but he sounds so enthusiastic about it. U.S. TV spots: emulate.
Hit the jump to check out both the behind-the-scenes featurette and the international TV spot along with the official synopsis. Iron Man 2 hits theaters on May 7th.
Here’s the official synopsis for Iron Man 2:
Paramount Pictures and Marvel Entertainment present the highly anticipated sequel to the blockbuster film based on the legendary Marvel Super Hero Iron Man, reuniting director Jon Favreau and Oscar® nominee Robert Downey Jr. In Iron Man 2, the world is aware that billionaire inventor Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) is the armored Super Hero Iron Man. Under pressure from the government, the press and the public to share his technology with the military, Tony is unwilling to divulge the secrets behind the Iron Man armor because he fears the information will slip into the wrong hands. With Pepper Potts (Gwyneth Paltrow), and James Rhodey Rhodes (Don Cheadle) at his side, Tony forges new alliances and confronts powerful new forces.
