Norton Antivirus (random, I know) is sponsoring a new featurette for Joss Whedon‘s The Avengers.  The featurette is mostly a recap of Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, Iron Man 2, Thor, and Captain America: The First Avenger, but there are few brief moments of new footage from The Avengers.  Even though the film is slightly over two months away, we’re still scrounging for new scraps.

Hit the jump to check out the featurette, and click here for the recently released new images. The film stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Clark Gregg, Stellan Skarsgård, Cobie Smulders, Tom Hiddleston, and Samuel L. JacksonThe Avengers opens in 3D on May 4th.

Here’s the official synopsis for The Avengers:

Marvel Studios presents in association with Paramount Pictures “Marvel’s The Avengers”–the Super Hero team up of a lifetime, featuring iconic Marvel Super Heroes Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, Thor, Captain America, Hawkeye and Black Widow. When an unexpected enemy emerges that threatens global safety and security, Nick Fury, Director of the international peacekeeping agency known as S.H.I.E.L.D., finds himself in need of a team to pull the world back from the brink of disaster. Spanning the globe, a daring recruitment effort begins. Starring Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner and Samuel L. Jackson, and directed by Joss Whedon, “Marvel’s The Avengers” is based on the ever-popular Marvel comic book series “The Avengers,” first published in 1963 and a comics institution ever since. Prepare yourself for an exciting event movie, packed with action and spectacular special effects, when “Marvel’s The Avengers” assemble in summer 2012. In “Marvel’s The Avengers,” superheroes team up to pull the world back from the brink of disaster when an unexpected enemy threatens global security.

Typo in your article… “Little over 2 months away”
Avengers comes out in a little over 1 month.
And yes, I’m that excited I got the release date stapled to my brain.

You had me scared when you said a little over 2 months away. May 4th is only a little over 1 month away.

Not one shot of Edward Norton but it was his choice to not be involved in the Marvel universe anymore, so Selavie.

No, Kevin Feige fired him. Norton wanted to do more Hulk.

      • Budders

No, he left because he demanded more money than Marvel was willing to pay him for his part. In the end he was becoming too much of a hassle so they didn’t resign him and instead found Mark Ruffalo.

Nah, he left cuz he was a being a diva/selfish bastard like Matt Damon leaving The Bourne Legacy. :-/

There was also the fact that Norton contributed a lot of stuff story wise that ended up on the cutting room floor. He felt the story was kind of bastardized and was underwhelmed with how the film ended up in its theatrical release. That contributed to his not returning in the avengers.

No dickishness intended here: It’s C’est la vie. Just a fun fact for the future!

Again, can’t emphasize enough that I’m just offering a friendly correction lol.
