Bubble-watchers can relax, as Fox has picked up New Girl for a fifth season (while that season is already in production, it's worth noting). Also, for those curious, Zooey Deschanel's pregnancy will not be written into the script, so there will be no baby mama drama.

David Madden, President of Entertainment at Fox said of the renewal,

Four seasons in, NEW GIRL continues to be one of the smartest and most relatable comedies on television. The writing is razor-sharp, the ensemble is consistently hilarious, and we couldn’t be more proud of Liz, Brett, Dave and the entire NEW GIRL team. We absolutely love this show and we’re so excited to bring it back for Season Five.

TV Line also reports that that John Cho will be joining the cast in a guest role as "a guy Jess meets when she excitedly reports for Jury Duty." (Selfie fans, light a candle for what could have been regarding Cho as a leading man in that series ... alas). Also, SNL's Taran Killam will also be guest starring on the new season, which will see the show hitting its 100th episode.
