The tagline on this newly-released poster/banner for A Nightmare on Elm Street proclaims, “He knows where you sleep.” This was better than the slightly-altered tagline I offered: “He probably knows where you sleep: In a bed (or possibly on a sofa).” But you’ve got a silouette of Freddy Krueger (Jackie Earle Haley), his signature claw, and a scared looking teenager. I think that’s all you need to sell this movie.

Horror. Freddy Krueger (Jackie Earle Haley) returns in “A Nightmare on Elm Street,” a contemporary re-imagining of the horror classic. A group of suburban teenagers share one common bond: they are all being stalked by Freddy Krueger, a horribly disfigured killer who hunts them in their dreams. As long as they stay awake, they can protect one another…but when they sleep, there is no escape.
