New Posters for SHREK FOREVER AFTER and THE SORCERERS APPRENTICE.jpg

DreamWorks and Walt Disney have released new posters for Shrek Forever After and The Sorcerer’s Apprentice.  Of the two, I really dig the The Sorcerer’s Apprentice poster as it’s simple and effective.  Also, rather than screaming who directed, starred or produced the movie, it’s selling you more on the mystery and magic – which is what you want to do with this film.  Check out the posters after the jump.

Thanks to ComingSoon.net for the Sorcerer’s Apprentice poster.  Here’s the synopsis:

Walt Disney Studios, producer Jerry Bruckheimer and director Jon Turteltaub, the creators of the “National Treasure” franchise, present THE SORCERER’S APPRENTICE — an innovative and epic comedy adventure about a sorcerer and his hapless apprentice who are swept into the center of an ancient conflict between good and evil.

Balthazar Blake (NICOLAS CAGE) is a master sorcerer in modern-day Manhattan trying to defend the city from his arch-nemesis, Maxim Horvath (ALFRED MOLINA).  Balthazar can’t do it alone, so he recruits Dave Stutler (JAY BARUCHEL), a seemingly average guy who demonstrates hidden potential, as his reluctant protégé.  The sorcerer gives his unwilling accomplice a crash course in the art and science of magic, and together, these unlikely partners work to stop the forces of darkness.  It’ll take all the courage Dave can muster to survive his training, save the city and get the girl as he becomes THE SORCERER’S APPRENTICE. The screenplay is by Matt Lopez and Doug Miro & Carlo Bernard from a screen story by Matt Lopez and Larry Konner & Mark Rosenthal.

Cast: Nicolas Cage, Jay Baruchel, Alfred Molina, Teresa Palmer, Monica Bellucci, Toby Kebbell

Director: Jon Turteltaub

Producer:  Jerry Bruckheimer

Shrek Forever After

Synopsis:      After challenging an evil dragon, rescuing a beautiful princess and saving your in-laws’ kingdom, what’s an ogre to do?  Well, if you’re Shrek, you suddenly wind up a domesticated family man.  Instead of scaring villagers away like he used to, a reluctant Shrek now agrees to autograph pitch forks.  What’s happened to this ogre’s roar?  Longing for the days when he felt like a “real ogre,” Shrek is duped into signing a pact with the smooth-talking dealmaker, Rumpelstiltskin.  Shrek suddenly finds himself in a twisted, alternate version of Far Far Away, where ogres are hunted, Rumpelstiltskin is king and Shrek and Fiona have never met.  Now, it’s up to Shrek to undo all he’s done in the hopes of saving his friends, restoring his world and reclaiming his one True Love.

Cast:   Mike Myers, Eddie Murphy, Cameron Diaz, Antonio Banderas

I prefer the Where my Witches at tagline, but sweet jeebus, just let this whole franchise die already.

The Sorcerer's Apprentice poster looks pretty decent. I wonder if Nic Cage's hair has it's own agent. Seems like a different do in just about every flick.

Yeah Cage looks good w/ a full mat of hair.

The Sorcerer’s Apprentice does look real good, I like how you have cropped the image at the top. We did the Pre-press repro for the shrek 1 & 2 for Pedigree Annuals. I hope they get the license to do 3. My be in 3d as well as we do the conversion of 2d to 3d images for print
