Fresh off the debut of the second trailer for Solo: A Star Wars Story, Disney and Lucasfilm have unveiled a batch of new high-resolution images from the film. These aren’t shots taken by a photographer on set but are instead hi-res screenshots, so they reflect the cinematography and staging that’ll be on display in the finished film. Ron Howard is the credited director on the second-ever “Star Wars Story”, which traces the origin story of young Han Solo, chronicling how he met Chewbacca and Lando Calrissian and how he won the Millennium Falcon.

Phil Lord and Chris Miller, the filmmakers best known for the Jump Street movies and The LEGO Movie, originated the project and shot quite a bit of footage, but they were replaced during production due to creative differences.

The look of the film is certainly Star Wars-y, as teased in these images. There’s not a significant departure from the standard aesthetic, as was true of the first Star Wars Story Rogue One. So Lucasfilm isn’t really looking to break the mold with these spinoffs, but instead is finding new avenues to tell stories set within the Star Wars universe that largely maintain all the hallmarks of what a “Star Wars movie” really is.

The most significant reveal in this new trailer was the notion that Paul Bettany’s mob boss Dryden Vos is the film’s villain, and we get a closer look at him in these hi-res photos. We also get a closer look at the Millennium Falcon in action as Howard finishes up the visual effects work on the film. Indeed, the premiere is about a month away as it was announced last week that Solo will screen out of competition at the Cannes Film Festival on May 15th.
