Neon has released the second trailer for The Beach Bum, writer/director Harmony Korine's seaside comedy starring Matthew McConaughey as a "rebellious rogue" named Moondog living large and mostly high in Miami. The film also stars Isla Fisher, Zac Efron, Snoop Dogg, and Martin Lawrence. The first trailer for The Beach Bum certainly sold the movie's wild, neon-colored tone, with McConaughey slurring off the line, “Life’s a fucking rodeo. I’m gonna suck the nectar out of it and fuck it raw ’til the wheels come off.”

The Beach Bum is Korine's first film since writing and directing 2012's Spring Breakers. The filmmaker originally made his name by writing the controversial Kids in 1995, the NC-17 drama that featured Chloë Sevigny and Rosario Dawson in their film debuts. Now, this red-band trailer for The Beach Bum teases a story that isn't just about McConaughey's Moondog going on a drug-fueled downward spiral, but one that also offers some potential for redemption, at least in the eyes of the law. While this could play out as a culmination of all of McConaughey's quirky, affected, druggie, player characters he's performed over the course of his career, it's sure to be a perfect summer stoner comedy, even if it is opening this spring. Keep an eye out for this one because it's gonna be a blast.

For now, check out the trailer below. From NEON in partnership with Vice Studios, The Beach Bum—which also stars Jonah HillIsla Fisher, Martin Lawrence, and Jimmy Buffett—hits theaters on March 22nd after making its world premiere at the 2019 SXSW Film Festival.
