To put it kindly, I wasn’t exactly wowed when the trailer for Jim Sheridan’s “Brothers” hit back in July. Now the second trailer is online and my interest in this movie is diminished almost to the point of indifference. This new trailer, the one closer to the film’s release date of December 4th, is only a minute long and relies on Mr. Movie Voice to explain the plot. It makes the movie looks like nothing but big emotional moments with no characters in between. I’m hoping that the elements of Sheridan, Tobey Maguire, Natalie Portman, and Jake Gyllenhaal combine to make a better film than I’m seeing from the trailers. Check out the trailer after the jump. It will only take a minute.

Im wondering if you posted the new trailer on or the old one? because the trailer above is 2:26 and there is no voiceover?

I am excited for this one actually…
Yeah and I watched a trailer for 2:26 as well.

Loved the original version. Not a fan of Natalie Portman, but the trailer looks good.

This movie “Brothers” is a direct rip from a danish movie with the same name made in 2005. Nothing new or original about it. Go see Netflix and watch it instantly. The chick that plays the wife is so hot she makes Natalie Portman look like Ugly Betty.

No I woudlnt write this film off right away. According to this review by Entertainment Tonight “ I loved the original and it took me about 20 minutes to get past it but it becomes a whole different movie. The performances are just great, Oscar-caliber in my opinion”
- I would say see both before jumping to conclusions

I actually saw both and it’s pretty tough to say which is “better” honestly. I’d say “Brodres” was a tad bit more heavy with the emotional ups and downs whereas “Brothers” emphasizes more on the suspense and really thought provoking aspect of “what would you do in this situation?” Both are excellent but I’d say go see “Brothers” in the theaters while it’s out.
