Every month leading up to its December release, Walt Disney is releasing a new poster/billboard for Tron Legacy.  The studio has bought a huge billboard on Santa Monica Bouldevard in Los Angeles that gets updated monthly and now Yahoo! Movies has an image of May's installment.  As you can see: light cycles.  Even if you know absolutely nothing about Tron, you know light cycles.  As my great-great-grandfather always said, "When in doubt: light cycles." Disney will likely be releasing a hi-res version of this image very soon and we'll update this story once that happens. [Update: It has been pointed out to me that this may be a light cycle chasing a light car.  If it is a light vehicle other than a cycle, then I don't know what to believe anymore.]

Hit the jump for the official synopsis.  Tron Legacy hits theaters in 3D on December 17th.

For those just tuning in, here's the official synopsis for Tron Legacy:

TRON is a 3D high-tech adventure set in a digital world that’s unlike anything ever captured on the big screen. Sam Flynn (GARRETT HEDLUND), the tech-savvy 27-year-old son of Kevin Flynn (JEFF BRIDGES), looks into his father’s disappearance and finds himself pulled into the same world of fierce programs and gladiatorial games where his father has been living for 25 years. Along with Kevin’s loyal confidant (OLIVIA WILDE), father and son embark on a life-and-death journey across a visually-stunning cyber universe that has become far more advanced and exceedingly dangerous.
