A new trailer for Aaron Sorkin‘s upcoming HBO series The Newsroom has gone online. The first trailer played to the dramatic aspects of the series, but the new one hits on Sorkin’s whip-smart dialogue almost to the point of self-parody (when Alison Pill‘s character talks about mixing up Georgia the state with Georgia the country, I could easily hear the dialogue coming out of Donna Moss’ mouth). The new trailer also does a better job of laying out the plot and establishing the different characters and their relationships.
Hit the jump to check out the trailer. The show stars Jeff Daniels, Emily Mortimer, John Gallagher Jr., Thomas Sadoski, Dev Patel, Olivia Munn, and Sam Waterston. The Newsroom premieres June 24th at 10/9c.

Oh hey, it’s two minutes of jokes that would have seemed fresh during the first season of Sports Night. What a trip down Memory Lane this show must be for Sorkin.
That’s funny, because 12 year old jokes that are relevant for Sports Night are still better than all of the writing on current television. Sorkin is so far above and beyond any trash that’s currently airing that it’s not fun. It’s not remotely funny. It’s simply fact. There isn’t a writer that can match him, there isn’t a show that is worth a damn compared to Sorkin’s work.
This whole pairing of images and dialogue is overused and on its way out if you ask me. Jokes will probably soon follow.
Hey Elitist, back off. This is the trailer, they’re going to cram in some of the familiar jokes aren’t they. I think it looks fantastic.
Look forward to it…but I miss Studio 60.
