Heat Vision Blog reports that Nicholas Hoult is set to join Tom Hardy and Charlize Theron in George Miller’s Fury Road, the fourth film in the Mad Max series. For those that don’t recognize the name, he was the chubby picked-on kid in About a Boy who made you say “Holy shit!” when you realized he was the hot gay student in A Single Man. Would that every fat, dorky-looking kid grow up to be an Adonis, but sadly, that is not the way of the world.
Now that I’m done with my man-crush, let’s get back to Fury Road. Not much is known about the film. It’s set a short while after the events of Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome but it’s Tom Hardy replacing Mel Gibson in the role of ‘Mad’ Max Rockatansky. Beyond that, the plot and characters are tightly under wraps. All we know about Hoult’s character is that he’s named “Nux”.
Also joining the cast are Zoe Kravitz (The Brave One) as “Five Wives”, and Teresa Palmer (Bedtime Stories) and Adelaide Clemens as part of a convoy being chased by baddies. Filming is set to begin this summer in Australia.
