To say Nicolas Cage has had an interesting career is a bit of an understatement. His early work includes some really meaty roles in films like Raising Arizona, Moonstruck, and Leaving Las Vegas, for which he won an Academy Award for Best Actor. Then he went on an action-bent with The Rock, Con Air, and Face/Off back-to-back-to-back. He’s proved that he’s really up to play any kind of part, and now Cage appears to be in on the joke with films like The Wicker Man, Drive Angry, and Kick-Ass. He’s really a stellar actor (his turn in Adaptation. is brilliant), and now someone has compiled the 100 best Nicolas Cage quotes into one fantastic video. It’s got the usual suspects like Con Air’s “Put the bunny back in the box” and the bevy of Wicker Tree goodness, but I was also amused to see the scarcely-seen 1994 comedy Trapped in Paradise included.

Thanks to Movies.com for the heads up.

Nicholas Cage is a God!
Nice to see some Family Man love.
That’s the polite way of putting it and no doubting the fact that Nic Cage is a great actor but most people I talk to have the same take on this subject. Where once he was a sign of quality, now he appears in any old shit. Like Liam Neeson
He played pretty much the same character in every single movie, with very little variation. Not the mark of a good actor.
I love seeing some love for Nick Cage and the video does show a lot of work, but as a movie montage editor myself I must say:
1.-It’s too long, quotes could have been cut to a shorter length so the video moved forward at a faster pace and the effect of watching the quotes together was funniest.
2.-The image and audio editing are not very professional, 4:3 films have been deformed instead of resized and the audio levels are uneven.
3.-It lacks progression, quotes could have been organized so they went from cool to crazy, giving some sense of climax in the end.
4.-No Raising Arizona? C’mon! It’s one of his best films and he’s actually pretty funny in it.
Hi Clara, thanks for your feedback. Alas I am not a professional editor, I’m a copywriter by trade who runs a film quiz in the UK and have a soft spot for Nic Cage. So I’m still getting the hang of it.
Cheers
Simon
PS: In this first compilation I tried to focus on the shouty clips, but rest assured there are plenty more clips, way more than 100 (including H.I. from Raising Arizona) that will no doubt appear in a follow-up!
soooooooo much cocaine….
