Two New High-Resolution Images from Darren Aronofsky’s NOAH Starring Russell Crowe and Jennifer Connelly

     December 19, 2013

Paramount Pictures has released a couple of new high-resolution images from director Darren Aronofsky’s upcoming Biblical epic Noah.  The film is, of course, an adaptation of the Bible’s Great Flood story, but with an Aronofsky twist.  These new images give us a look at the practical ark that was built for the production as well as Russell Crowe’s titular character embracing his wife, played by Jennifer Connelly.  The first two trailers for the pic promised plenty of gorgeous imagery and a literal boat load of CGI animals, and I’m eager to see what else Aronofsky has up his sleeve in the full film.

Hit the jump to take a look at the new images.  The film also stars Logan Lerman, Ray Winstone, Emma Watson, Douglas Booth, and Anthony HopkinsNoah opens March 28, 2014.

Here’s the official logline for Noah:

Academy Award® winner Russell Crowe stars as Noah, a man chosen by God for a great task before an apocalyptic flood destroys the world.

What the world needs right now is more religious idiocy. It’s not like religion is the primary root of all the wars that are unfolding at the moment or anything. Bless you Aronosky. Bless your uber-right agenda and coal-black heart!

Do people like you really not see that you’re exactly like the religious types you have an issue with? You’re just as scared and ignorant as they are. It’s like somebody at one extreme end of the political spectrum complains about the other end, when you’re both actually ass holes.

as an atheist, I still think this looks like a good movie, if viewed simply as an adaptation of a myth or work of fiction

      • TheOneWhoKnocks

Would you still be an athiest if you found the Ark for real? It’s situated on Mount Ararat on the Turkish-Iranian border as we speak and still largely intact…

      • TheOneWhoKnocks

        Woops, misspelt atheist above, sorry…

      • erik

There has never been any scientific evidence found to substantiate the existence of the ark. Its a myth, just like jesus.

      • Calebxy

On the contrary, the vast majority of scholars consider Jesus to have been a real person. They just don’t consider him to have been the son of God (if they’re atheist, that is).

      • mbmarquis69

I’m pretty sure Jewish scholars aren’t atheists and they don’t think he’s the son of god either.

No evidence of the Ark at Ararat has been found, despite many scientific expeditions to the area

So Crowe finally got his own boat. Time for some gool old fashioned Fight-in’ Round The World
