How does one dress for a mass exodus onto a giant wooden ark that will be surrounded by rising flood waters for an indefinite period of time?  Why, with homemade t-shirts, head wraps and fashionable boots!  At least that’s what the cast of Darren Aronofsky’s Noah was wearing in these recent set photos.  The images show off Jennifer Connelly and Emma Watson in costume on their way to/from set, along with titular star Russell Crowe short-sleeved and bearded.  If you haven’t seen it yet, check out an image of the finished ark here; drafty!

Hit the jump to check out the images.  The film stars also stars Logan Lerman, Douglas Booth, Ray Winstone, Anthony Hopkins, Kevin Durand, Martin Csokas and Mark Margolis.  Noah opens March 28, 2014.

Here are the newest set photos from Aronofsky’s Noah (via CBM), followed by the plot synopsis:

  1. In Aronovsky we trust. From what I see, it sure doesn’t take place in the old testament times.

But if beneath that rubber / mylar Jennifer Connely’s sporting she’s got more “earth tone” threads on, then this is probably more like a post apocalyptic Noah.

Haven’t read the graphic novel he put out, as a pitch for this yet but. Looks promising.

  2. Wow, Crowe looks massive

Haven’t been paying too much attention to the news surrounding this film, but that cast is stacked (with Wallflower alums Watson and Lerman reuniting).

I’m beyond interested to see what this is going to be like. Very much looking forward to a trailer

  4. This movie is going to blow minds I think. It’s just different enough to where no one’s praising it nor calling it blasphemy, a freakin Darron Aronofsky movie DUDES. Whats up?

Remember, set photos usually give the look of two or three actual set peices……… Russel Crowe Emma Watson by their trailers, and Hugh Jackman goofing off, and a bike from the future. WOW, this movie sucks.

  6. Am I the only one who is annoyed because this film only cast white ? I am white, but c’mon only white people in a kind of “biblical” film.

    • I’m with you. How can the man who restarted the human race have not a touch of melanin in him? Not even his wife, or the wives of his sons? I feel like people should leave Biblical stories alone unless they do some serious research and don’t want to offend like a 40% of the planet. I’m still upset about the blue-eyed blond Jesus on the History channel’s “The BIble”.

  7. The costumes look badass. All the people complaining that they don’t look era-appropriate – how do they know what people were wearing at the end of the last ice age when all the ice melted???

  8. At Sarah… Logan Lerman is 100% Jewish and Jennifer Connelly is 50% Jewish. So wouldn’t they be the best picks for a Biblical movie? And how do you know these people were not white?
