We’re already pretty aware that director Darren Aronofsky’s incredibly ambitious epic Noah won’t exactly be a run-of-the-mill period piece, but some new set photos have surfaced that drive that point home.  Russell Crowe stars as the titular figure who hears the voice of God warning him that the world cannot be allowed to survive in its current, corrupted form, and an impending flood looms closer.  To give you an idea of the strangeness of Noah, the story includes 11-foot-tall fallen angels with six arms and no wings called Watchers.

We’ve already seen the first official image of Crowe in character, but today some set photos have gone online that give us a peek at some of the film’s costumes.  We also get a look at Aronofsky on set, the film’s title treatment, and Logan Lerman and Madison Davenport in character.  Lerman plays one of Noah’s sons, Ham, while Davenport plays Ham’s wife.  The cast also includes Jennifer Connelly, Emma Watson, and Anthony Hopkins.  Hit the jump to check out the images.  Noah opens on March 28th, 2014. [Update: We've removed the unofficial images.]

Black Swan is one of my top 100 films of all time. I will see this but I wonder if with more money Aronfosky will lose what had made one of the best independent directors. The Wrestler and Reqiuem for a Dream are also great films.

I’m sorry, but who is Logan Lerman’s Uncle? Because that kid has been gifted 2 attempted blockbusters that bombed(Percy Jackson, Musketeers) and seems to show up in everything as the son character. And in none of these has he been brilliant enough to seem to warrant all the screen time he’s been getting. Hopefully he can show some chops in a character driven story like Wallflower, and if Aronofsky tapped him for this role maybe he does have the ability to change my mind about his abilities.

The costumes are interesting and certainly different from the usual long tunic with head dress. This Noah has its own personality. It’s good that Crowe is playing Noah,as he is always on target.

@Romsy – I have to say, I think you are looking at Logan’s acting abilities based solely on his performances in some pretty crap films. Lerman can’t shine through and impress if the script and direction he’s been given don’t allow him to. Personally I hated Percy Jackson but I thought Lerman was at least ok – no, not great, but again, we must go back to the script and direction. Same goes for 3 Musketeers. Both of these films had pretty great potential, mainly Percy Jackson, but just didn’t meet their potential. This can’t be blamed on the actor – which I realize you didn’t really do, but still, don’t base an actor’s talent on a couple of crappy movies.

Sorry this is so long. My final point – I had the chance to see Wallflower in an advanced screening and I can tell you personally, you will finally see Lerman’s true ability and talent in a great film. He also did a wonderful job in a lesser known film My One and Only, starring Renee Zellweger. So, just saying, you should give him the benefit of a doubt when the film itself where you are criticizing his talent is just not any good.
